Ballymena United manager Glenn Ferguson has further bolstered his strikeforce by signing transfer-listed Lisburn Distillery forward Gary Liggett.

The former Portadown and Glenavon striker has agreed an 18-month deal.

Liggett is set to make his debut for the Sky Blues in Saturday's Irish Cup fifth round tie with Warrenpoint Town.

Ferguson had already snapped up ex-Donegal Celtic striker Shane Dolan, who scored on his debut during the 3-0 win over Ballinamallard on Friday night.

Meanwhile Aaron Boyd has signed for Distillery after leaving Coleraine.

Boyd was released by the Bannsiders at the weekend and had been attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Whites manager Tim McCann has also secured the services of Owain Beggs on loan from Glentoran.

James Costello left Ballymena to join Dungannon Swifts last week.
