Lewis Grabban's second-half penalty saw Bournemouth beat Hartlepool to move into the League One play-off places.

The Cherries initially took the lead when Josh McQuoid headed home Simon Francis's cross from close range.

But the hosts levelled when Evan Horwood's free-kick hit the bar and bounced down to allow Jack Baldwin to turn in his first career goal.

However, after Sam Collins had tripped Eunan O'Kane, Grabban slotted home from the spot to earn the three points.

Grabban's penalty condemned Pools to their seventh consecutive home defeat and means they still lie eight points adrift at the foot of the League One table.
