An understrength Cliftonville side suffered a heavy defeat by Cork City in Monday night's Setanta Cup first round, first leg tie at Turner's Cross.

The Irish Premiership leaders trailed 1-0 after 16 minutes thanks to Gearoid Morrissey's low shot from 25 yards.

Ian Turner added the second with a 26th-minute penalty and then scored with a 25-yard free-kick straight into the net in first half injury-time.

Daryl Kavanagh made it 4-0 with a glancing header after 69 minutes.

The sides meet again in the second leg at Solitude next Monday.
