Dungannon Swifts beat Portadown 2-0 at Stangmore Park in the Irish Premiership

A Johnny Topley header and a Chris Ramsey own goal saw Dungannon Swifts beat Portadown at Stangmore Park.

Topley was left unmarked to head a Michael McKerr right-wing cross into the bottom corner in the 28th minute.

Darren Murray had the best chance of the first half for Portadown but he headed an Aaron Burns cross onto the roof of the net.

Defender Ramsey turned the ball into his own net after a low cross from McKerr after 59 minutes.

The Ports began the game without prolific striker Gary Twigg in their side and Ryan Harpur, Matt Hazley and Cameron Grieve all had early chances to score.

The result is a further blow to the Ports' hopes of making the Premiership top six.
