MK Dons 1-1 Preston
- Published
Will Hayhurst scored his second goal in as many games to earn Preston a point at MK Dons and maintain Simon Grayson's unbeaten start as North End boss.
The Dons, who were without a win in seven going into the match, went ahead after just two minutes when Adam Chicksen curled into the top corner.
But Hayhurst fired home Lee Holmes' cross just five minutes later to level.
Preston had the better of a lacklustre second half, with Nicky Wroe blasting narrowly over from the edge of the box.
Chris Lines did come close for the hosts when his free-kick shaved the post, but their winless run continues.
The Dons were buoyed, however, by the news that midfielder Luke Chadwick has agreed a new deal at Stadium MK until 2015., external
Meanwhile Preston, who have drawn both of Grayson's games in charge, lie just four points clear of the League One relegation zone, but have at least a game in hand over most of the teams around them.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I don't think you can say anyone shirked responsibility today, I don't think anyone's not worked hard.
"There were two blatant penalties for us. It's remarkable how one on Dean Lewington wasn't spotted.
"For some unknown reason it's not happening for us.
"That was a very strong performance. I don't remember being under too much pressure except for 15 minutes in the first half."
Preston manager Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"We were trying to win the game at the end.
"It was a game where we got off to a poor start, but from then on we saw the players show endeavour and a good attitude.
"We played a decent passing game at times but lacked that little bit of quality in the final third."
