Portadown knock Coleraine out of the Irish Cup with a 3-0 victory at Ballycastle Road Showgrounds

Portadown progressed to the Irish Cup semi-finals with a comfortable victory over Coleraine at Ballycastle Road.

Darren Murray twice went close before strike partner Kevin Braniff swivelled and drilled the ball wide of Michael Doherty in the 34th minute.

Murray added the second with a 68th-minute penalty after Braniff had been brought down by Aaron Canning.

Braniff grabbed his second with a fine finish three minutes from time and then Ruairi Harkin tested David Miskelly.

The Ports' keeper saved Harkin's effort with his legs.

The home side suffered an early setback when Ryan McIlmoyle was stretchered off and then Murray shot over the bar and forced a good save from Doherty.

The Ports then took control to ensure their passage to the last four and keep alive their hopes of securing some silverware this season.
