Coventry 2-2 Colchester

Play-off chasing Coventry City hit two late goals to earn a draw against Colchester United in new boss Steven Pressley's first home game as manager.

Gavin Massey gave the visitors a half-time lead from 12 yards, before Michael Smith doubled their advantage, calmly slotting under keeper Joe Murphy.

Substitute Callum Wilson reduced the deficit with a great run and finish - his first goal for the club.

Carl Baker then fired home a free-kick in injury time to earn a point.

Despite ending their run of four successive home defeats, Coventry have fallen six points off the pace in the race to make the play-offs, while Colchester are four points above the relegation zone.

Sky Blues manager Steven Pressley told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire:

"It was a game we dominated for long periods. We were excellent at times and created numerous opportunities.

"After dominating for long periods we found ourselves 2-0 down, which was quite incredible. But the players' response to that was magnificent.

"We showed a never-say-die attitude and that's what I want to create at this football club, that type of spirit."

Sky Blues striker Callum Wilson on his first goal for the club:

"Being from Coventry I'm just buzzing to get on the scoresheet. I just wanted to get on the pitch really, I didn't imagine myself scoring. All I want to do is get a goal and help the team get a result."

Colchester United manager Joe Dunne told BBC Essex:

"We were comfortable. Coventry got booed off at half-time and we were under threat, but we were dealing with it ever so well.

"We've made two clinical mistakes. We've given the ball away in a poor position and then we've given a silly free-kick away in stoppage time.

"We take the point and move on, it could have been worse, we could have lost.

"People will say 'that's two points dropped', but not necessarily because we haven't got time to feel sorry for ourselves."
