Walsall 2-2 Crawley Town
- Published
Walsall scored two late goals in the space of three minutes to rescue a point at home to Crawley and stretch their unbeaten run to nine matches.
The visitors looked set when, after Jamie Proctor's rising drive opened the scoring, Paul Hayes's close-range second put them 2-0 up on 71 minutes.
But Jamie Paterson's deflected shot in the last minute proved a lifeline.
And, in the second minute of injury time, top scorer Will Grigg drove in the equaliser from Andy Taylor's cross.
That was the Walsall marksman's 19th goal of the season - and his eighth in five games.
The Saddlers move a point closer to the League One play-off zone, but Crawley's fourth successive draw leaves them now 10 points adrift.
VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Crawley Town manager Richie Barker told BBC Sussex:
"It is disappointing that we let them back into the game - we should be shutting up shop and making sure it doesn't happen.
"That's probably five we've had cleared off the line in the last two weeks, and five or six off the woodwork, so we're not a million miles away.
"But there's no way we should be talking about this having been 2-0 up in the 88th minute."
