Gillingham boss Martin Allen has backed Bradley Dack to continue improving.

The 18-year-old midfielder has scored once in 15 appearances for the Gills this season and has had a loan spell at non-league Braintree Town.

Allen told BBC Radio Kent: "He is just going to get better and better. It is just a matter of time before he goes on and cracks it.

"Perhaps if anything, looking back, I should have played him more and given him more games."

Allen added: "Perhaps I could have put him out on loan earlier.

"He is a good player, a great athlete and he has an appetite for goals.

"He scores goals, makes goals and makes things happen."

Dack scored once in four games during his one month at Blue Square Bet Premier side Braintree, and Allen expects the academy graduate will get on the scoresheet more often for the Gills.

"A few weeks ago he played out here and scored a hat-trick for the reserves," Allen said.

"He was very unlucky not to score against Plymouth after he was eight yards from goal with a header.

"He was outstanding and he is going to score goals."
