Tom Bender: Millwall hand defender one-year contract

Championship side Millwall have handed a one-year contract to young defender Tom Bender.

The 20-year-old Wales Under-21 international had been on trial with the Lions and has appeared for their development side.

Bender, who can play at left-back or centre-back, was a free agent after his contract at Colchester United was terminated last month.

He made four appearances during a loan spell at Accrington last season.
