Wigan striker Mauro Boselli is to join Mexican side Club Leon for an undisclosed fee.

The Argentine joined Latics in 2010 for a then record fee of about £6m.

Boselli, 28, made 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals, four of which came in the 2012-13 season in which Wigan were relegated from the Premier League.

He hit the winner against Bournemouth in the third round of the FA Cup, which started the club's triumphant Cup run.

Boselli joined Wigan from Argentine side Estudiantes,, external one of three clubs where he spent loan spells during his time at the DW Stadium. He also played in Italy with Genoa and finished last season at Palermo.
