Fifa to discuss Cameroon FA's election problems

Cameroon Football Federation's ongoing election problems are set to be discussed by Fifa's emergency committee in the coming days, football's world governing body has told BBC Sport.

The federation (Fecafoot) has been thrown into chaos by a series of controversies, including the invalidation of elections on 19 June.

Fecafoot's Elections Appeals Committee declared void the result of polls which retained Iya Mohammed as president.

Mohammed is currently detained in prison while charges of embezzling money at state-owned Cotton Development Company are investigated.

Fifa has come in for criticism after chief Sepp Blatter gave his seal of approval to the Fecafoot election results.

Meanwhile, Fecafoot's first vice-president Seidou Mbombo Njoya has resigned after John Begheni Ndeh took over as the body's interim boss.

Njoya had expected to step in as president in the absence of Mohammed.

"I prefer to withdraw and I wish good luck to those who would take the responsibility of managing the federation," he said.
