Former Motherwell striker Michael Higdon has signed a two-year deal with Dutch Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen.
The 29-year-old left Fir Park at the end of his contract after finishing top scorer in the Scottish Premier League last season with 26 goals.
"We wanted to have a type of target man," said NEC technical director Carlos Aalbers on the club's website.
"With capturing Michael, that is successful. He's shown to be able to score goals at the highest level."
Higdon was also named PFA Scotland Player of the Year last term.
Former Dunfermline and Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood had a spell as manager of NEC between 1997 and 1999.
