Reading winger Hal Robson-Kanu has signed a two-year contract extension, tying him to the club until June 2016.
The Wales international, 24, is a graduate of the Royals' academy and has scored 17 goals in 125 games since making his first-team debut in 2007.
"I'm delighted to commit my future to Reading," he told the club's website., external
"Towards the end of last season there were a lot of positives. The manager showed his faith in me and the football he is getting us to play is exciting."
Robson-Kanu's emergence as a first-team regular, along with goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is evidence of the success of Reading's academy, which has been awarded Category One status, the highest level under the Premier League's Elite Player Performance Plan.
"Only a small handful [of clubs] have been given Category One status which now ensures we have fixtures against the very best Academies in the country, the ability to attract and retain the very best players nationwide, and far more contact time between our coaches and players.
"Our Academy has already grown beyond all recognition with the addition of new staff, facilities and plans for a new training ground, and confirmation of Category One will see the development continue at great pace," a Reading statement said.
