Uganda beat Tanzania in CHAN qualifier

Uganda took a step closer to reaching the second round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers after beating hosts Tanzania 1-0 in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
Denis Iguma scored the only goal for the visitors in the second minute of the second half, when he beat an off-side trap to curve home a pass from the right.
Mrisho Ngasa and John Bocco created Tanzania's best chances, but they either shot wide or attracted saves from Ugandan keeper Hamza Muwonge.
Tanzania's Danish coach Kim Poulsen insists his players still have a chance of going through despite the loss.
"We created many chances in the first half but did not take them," he told BBC Sport.
"However, if the Ugandans were able to win away, why not, we could also win in Kampala," he added.
Uganda coach Milutin "Micho" Sredejovic said he would not under-rate the Taifa Stars during the return leg in two weeks' time.
"I respect Tanzania, and I know it is not over yet. We are going to approach the return leg with seriousness, knowing they are capable of turning the results," he said.
CHAN is a tournament for home-based players and its finals will be held in South Africa next year.
The qualifiers are split into zones, with the East, South, North and West of the continent being represented by two teams.
