Tunisia international striker Saber Khelifa, currently with French side Evian, is a possible transfer target for Celtic.
But Celtic will only move for £3m-rated Khelifa, who pulled out of a transfer to Montpellier, if a bid for Hamburg forward Artjoms Rudnevs proves unsuccessful.
Hamburg are willing to sell Latvia international Rudnevs for £5m to fund an attempt to sign Nikica Jelavic from Everton. However, Rudnevs would have to accept a wage cut at Celtic.
The top two divisions of the Scottish Professional Football League will be branded 'The Premier League' and 'The Championship'.
