Carlisle 1-5 Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient began the season with a stylish victory over a Carlisle side who played for an hour with 10 men.

Kevin Lisbie glanced in the opener and the O's started to dominate when the hosts had Lee Miller sent off for a foul on Nathan Clarke.

After a seven-minute injury delay which ended with Clarke being replaced, Scott Cuthbert's thumping header made it 2-0.

David Amoo's penalty gave Carlisle hope but David Mooney's header and two shots by substitute Dean Cox sealed the win.

Cox curled a low right-footed effort beyond Gillespie from just inside the area for his first and completed the scoring when a fine strike found the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade told BBC London 94.9:

"We were strong and ruthless in front of goal and I liked that we kept going and you take any kind of win and it was pleasing.

"It's my first win in 10 seasons on the opening day, and it's great to get the three points and come out on the winning side."
