St Mirren boss Danny Lennon felt the award of a penalty against his side proved to be the turning point in the 3-0 defeat by Inverness.

With the score 0-0, the Highlanders were given a spot-kick when David van Zanten was judged to have used an arm to block James Vincent's shot.

And Lennon was frustrated that the Buddies could not battle back.

"The way that we let that affect us was the biggest disappointment for myself," said Lennon.

"A big decision, a big key moment in the game goes against us.

"We make a catalogue of errors and they're ruthless enough to capitalise on our mistakes.

"I thought it was great defending by David van Zanten. He did everything that you want a player to; go out, charge the ball."
