Shrewsbury 1-1 Coventry

Tom Bradshaw scored for the third successive League One game as Shrewsbury Town fought back to earn a point against Coventry City.

Coventry took an early lead when Callum Wilson coolly rounded keeper Chris Weale before slotting home.

The goal galvanised the Sky Blues but Weale made a series of fine saves from Leon Clarke and Franck Moussa.

However, Bradshaw met an inch-perfect Curtis Main cross to sweep the ball past Joe Murphy to level.

Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"I think Coventry are a good side - but we gave them the start we didn't want to. We had a bright opening few minutes but were poor in the first half. In the second half, it is pleasing to have put in such a good performance and to get the draw.

"We came alive in the second half - and had the best chance of the match to win it. Overall we have done OK - I am pleased.

"We have provided a good spectacle today, and we are proving that we can compete at this level.

"We will make changes for the [Johnstone's Paint Trophy] match on Tuesday and we will be looking to progress in it, and go as far as we can."

Coventry City manager Stephen Pressley told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire:

"I thought we were exceptional in the first half, we scored early and had numerous chances to add to that.

"I felt we deserved to win the game, but coming here and getting a draw in the grand scheme of things isn't a bad result.

"Overall I'm hugely satisfied with the players and their commitment to this club. It keeps the momentum going.

"The players are showing an outstanding attitude at this moment in time, and our supporters showed how much they appreciate it. They are working as hard as they possibly can for this football club and I'm really proud of them for that."
