Ryan Mason scored a hat-trick and missed a penalty as Swindon crushed disappointing Crewe.

Nile Ranger scored his first league goal for Swindon with a left-foot shot while Massimo Luongo added the second with a cross-cum-shot.

Mason turned in a defence-splitting pass from Yaser Kasim and then got his second from the penalty spot.

His third came when he steered home Alex Pritchard's cross and later saw his spot-kick saved by Alan Martin.

Post-match: Swindon boss Mark Cooper

Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper told BBC Wiltshire:

"The players, the staff, the supporters were fantastic - hopefully we continue to win people over.

"The most pleasing thing is what we're working on in training is coming to fruition and the group of players are still looking for more.

"It's all about the movement, getting people running off the ball, getting people running with the ball. That's the thing.

"From start to finish they were top-drawer."
