Ross County chairman Roy MacGregor felt sorry for supporters after the Highland derby was abandoned because of a power failure.

The game at Victoria Park was abandoned at half-time despite efforts to get the floodlights working again.

"We're really disappointed for all the fans, the officials, the players and we'll have an investigation," said MacGregor.

"But it's something outwith our control; it feels like a loss."

The failure occurred at half-time at Victoria Park with the sides tied at 0-0. Despite efforts to restore power, the game was abandoned following a delay.

"I don't know if it's because of the incessant rain we've had here today," said MacGregor.

"But it's nothing to do with the floodlights and we've tried to get them back on.

"It's something outwith our control. It feels like a loss in the game because it was very evenly matched at half time and everyone was looking forward to the second half.

"We're all bitterly disappointed.

"With the rain today, something outside the ground, whether it's water or whatever got into something, you could see when we tried to switch (the floodlights) on again, the same thing happened.

"I'm afraid we're not in control of that at all."
