Bristol City 3-0 Dagenham & Redbridge

  • Published

Bristol City's revival continued with a routine win over League Two side Dagenham in the FA Cup first round.

Having gone nine games without a win during September and October, City have now won three of their last four.

Unsurprisingly, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was at the heart of their success, netting a deflected shot and a fierce drive to take his tally for the season to 14.

Sandwiched in between the striker's brace was a goal from Marvin Elliott, who turned in Marlon Pack's cross.

Bristol City head coach Sean O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Bristol:

"Nice and professional, I thought we did the hard work.

"I had to make changes because of the players on loan and fitted in seamlessly and the three substitutes played well as well.

"We came in at half-time and said we need to do all the nitty-gritty things, the unsung things, because that's what has got us a hold of the game

"We have got match winners so if we do all the other unglamorous stuff we'll be ok."
