Carlisle United 1-1 Crawley Town

Billy Clarke grabbed a draw for Crawley at Carlisle to end their run of four league defeats without scoring.

In an otherwise quiet first half, Crawley's Andy Drury drilled a low shot against the near post from close range.

Liam Noble's well-struck penalty put the hosts ahead after Max Ehmer was hauled down by Joe Walsh at a corner.

With two minutes left, substitute Clarke broke down the left wing and from 25 yards fired through the hands of debutant goalkeeper Ben Amos.

"The first half wasn't much to write home about and there wasn't much of an atmosphere. The game looked like it had 0-0 written all over it.

"I said last week that we hadn't turned the corner but I think we are further into turning the corner.

"Defensive errors have pretty much cost us six points in the last month. But, on a positive, the players stuck at it, they had a fantastic attitude and it was the least we deserved.

"Billy Clarke is one of those goalscorers who has that almost selfish ability. He has got that mentality to shoot from distance."
