Match action from Glentoran against Glenavon at The Oval

Glentoran winger Jordan Stewart was denied by the woodwork in a dour scoreless draw with Glenavon.

There were few chances at the Oval in a Premiership encounter which lacked rhythm and urgency.

Stewart provided a rare first-half highlight, his jinking run ending with a shot flying over the bar.

Shane McCabe curled just wide of the Glens goal and Glenavon keeper John Connolly kept out a Marcus Kane shot before Stewart hit a post late on.

Elliott Morris easily saved a a weak effort from Lurgan Blues striker Guy Bates early in the game.

Glens midfielder Richard Clarke dragged a shot wide before Calum Birney volleyed over at the back-post.

The only clear opening fell to Stewart six minutes from time, the winger firing against a post from David Scullion's cut-back.

Glentoran fall one place to fourth while Glenavon lose fifth spot to Mid Ulster rivals Portadown.
