Lee Camp: Bournemouth keen to extend West Brom keeper's stay

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is eager to extend goalkeeper Lee Camp's loan from West Bromwich Albion.

The initial 28-day deal for the 29-year-old, who has made two appearances for the Cherries, expires at the end of the month.

"Definitely, with the way he has performed, yes we would like to keep him," Howe told BBC Radio Solent.

"But there are, of course, two sides to that and we will wait and see what his parent club has to say."

The Northern Ireland international moved to the Goldsands Stadium after on-loan West Ham keeper Stephen Henderson returned to Upton Park with a dislocated shoulder.

Howe has struggled to settle on a first-choice number one this season, with Ryan Allsop, 21, suffering from glandular fever, while Darryl Flahavan and Benjamin Buchel have both spent time on the sidelines injured.

Howe said any attempt to sign Camp on a permanent deal in January, when the keeper's rolling monthly contract expires, are on hold.

Swindon's Wes Foderingham has also been linked to the Cherries.

"We are waiting for everyone to get fit," Howe said.

Howe also confirmed that winger Matt Ritchie will be included in the squad to face Derby County at home on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who is yet to play a competitive game this season because of a thigh injury, proved his fitness with 60 minutes against Reading in a midweek friendly.

"Ritchie coming through is a massive positive for us," Howe said.

"He will be in the squad, but with the type of injury he has had we've been very careful with this comeback, in terms of giving him all time he needs and not push him too quickly.

"Ryan Fraser has trained for a couple of days, Darryl Flahavan came through the game the other day and Joe Partington has stepped up his comeback."
