Newport County sign Brighton striker George Barker

Newport County have signed Brighton and Hove Albion striker George Barker on an emergency loan until January, subject to international clearance.

The 22-year-old, who had a loan spell at Barnet last season, has made one appearance for the Seagulls this term.

He will be included in the Exiles' squad to face Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road in League Two on Saturday.

Barker will provide cover for injured duo Chris Zebroski and Aaron O'Connor.

Meanwhile, Newport boss Justin Edinburgh is confident of extending the loan of Cardiff defender Adedeji Oshilaja until January.
