Premier League predictions: Lawro v Alistair McGowan

BBC Sport expert Mark Lawrenson

BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.

This week he took on impressionist Alistair McGowan.

McGowan was a Leeds fan as a boy but also watched Coventry City and now says he does not have an allegiance to any club.

He told BBC Sport: "I followed Leeds when I was a kid, the Don Revie team, and when that team broke up, in a rather unique way, I no longer followed Leeds and, because we lived near Coventry, I became a Coventry fan.

"And then weirdly I went to university in Leeds but still followed Coventry. And then I moved to London and followed Coventry for a few more years. They won the FA Cup in 1987, which was fantastic but, since then, my interest has lapsed.

"My nearest club is Fulham so I followed them for a little while but now I have clubs I like and clubs I don't like so much."

McGowan also has a wide variety of football impressions, with Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and former England strikers Michael Owen, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer among those to feature in his predictions.

A correct result is worth ONE point. A correct score earns THREE points.

Last week, Lawro got six results right, with three perfect scores. His score of 12 gave him victory over twin brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner from US rock band The National, who got five correct results, with no exact scores.

We're keeping a record of the total scores for Lawro and his guests (below), and showing a table of how the Premier League would look if all of Lawro's predictions were correct (also at the bottom of the page).
