Carlisle United 4-1 Tranmere Rovers

On-loan Tom Lawrence scored twice as Carlisle swept to an impressive home win at Brunton Park.

The Manchester United teenager stunned Rovers when his first-minute strike from 25 yards beat Owain Fon Williams.

David Amoo volleyed in against his old club from a James Berrett corner and Lawrence's low shot made it three.

The Cumbrians went further in front through Berrett's right-footed drive, and a far-post header by Ryan Lowe was scant consolation for the visitors.

Lawrence's goals were the first of his professional career.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ben Amos - also on loan from Old Trafford - started his fifth game for Carlisle, 24-hours after extending his stay until 1 January., external
