Gillingham 2-2 Peterborough United

Britt Assombalonga scored in the seventh minute of added time to earn Peterborough a point at Gillingham.

Assombalonga had earlier given his side the lead, tapping in after home goalkeeper Stuart Nelson parried John Bostwick's low drive.

Joe Martin equalised with a curling free-kick from 20 yards, before Cody McDonald headed in Myles Weston's cross to give the Gills the advantage.

But Assombalonga sent in a clever backheel at the death to level it.

Post match: Gillingham manager Peter Taylor

Gillingham manager Peter Taylor told BBC Radio Kent:

"I think Peterborough showed what a good football team they are but we kept hanging in there.

"The effort was outstanding so I'm very pleased.

"I wasn't too unhappy with our first half performance either, I was pleased with the younger players too.

"The equalising goal hurts, but Stuart Nelson pulled off a couple of good saves as well.

"Although we're disappointed it was late, when you play against a team of this quality you're going to be tested."
