Reading midfielder Royston Drenthe says the players must shoulder the blame for their defeat against Bournemouth.
The Royals lost their unbeaten home record when the Cherries beat them 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium.
Drenthe was making his return from injury, having spent more than three months on the sidelines.
"We have to look in the mirror and say we are to blame. We have to blame ourselves - we have to win these types of games," he told BBC Berkshire.
The result saw Reading slip to sixth in the Championship as they lost further ground on the automatic promotion places.
Drenthe added: "Everyone knows I am a winner. I am only thinking about the team and we need to win every game, so I am really disappointed.
"We are all really disappointed, but I'm confident in my group, We are winners."
