Cliftonville's Jaimie McGovern signs contract extension

Cliftonville defender Jaimie McGovern has signed a contract extension with the Irish Premiership champions.

The 24-year-old full-back joined the Solitude side from Belfast rivals Glentoran in May 2012.

McGovern said on his Twitter account: "Delighted to agree to stay with the Reds for another two and a half years. Hopefully exciting times ahead."

The defender has made 74 appearances for Cliftonville and played a key role in the 2012/13 title success.
