Dumbarton scored either side of half-time to consign Scottish Championship bottom side Greenock Morton to a tenth straight league defeat.
Both sides had a goal disallowed for offside before the hosts were awarded a penalty.
Chris Turner's strike from 25 yards hit Reece Hands on the arm and Bryan Prunty converted from 12 yards.
And the Sons completed their win when Colin Nish crossed for debutant Chris Kane to head home from six yards.
