Bradford City have extended the contract of defender Matthew Bates until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old former Middlesbrough and Bristol City player joined the Bantams on a short-term deal in October.

He has made 13 appearances for Phil Parkinson's side so far this campaign.

The Valley Parade side travel to Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United on Saturday, looking for a first victory since 23 November.
