Ipswich Town scored twice in the last 10 minutes as they fought back from 2-0 down to draw at Barnsley.

The hosts went ahead when Chris O'Grady finished from Jack Hunt's cross.

Substitute Tomasz Cywka added Barnsley's second with a free-kick with 16 minutes left.

Christophe Berra pulled one back from close-range with nine minutes left before David McGoldrick's late free-kick secured a draw for Ipswich, who are now three points off the play-offs.

Barnsley, who are four points from safety, moved ahead when Hunt found O'Grady and the striker made the space to find the corner for his 11th goal of the season.

Ipswich's Aaron Cresswell thumped a free-kick against the post and Cole Skuse just missed with a drive shortly after the interval.

Cywka's free-kick looked to have sealed the points before defender Berra finished from a couple of yards after Jim O'Brien blocked Tommy Smith's header.

McGoldrick then secured a point for Mick McCarthy's side when he scored his 14th league goal of the season with a powerful free-kick.

Barnsley manager Danny Wilson:

"I'm frustrated, rather than disappointed. I think in the second half we had our backs to the wall for long periods, the wind took its toll, just like it helped us in the first half.

"We knew we were going to be on the back foot, particularly with the strike force they've got but I think the two goals (conceded) were the disappointing part, if anything.

"The performance wasn't disappointing; it was just a little bit frustrating at times. We defended too deep and instead of taking a forward step, we took a backward step and that helped them.

"The manner in which Ipswich got the goals was fortunate but I would have thought from Mick's point of view, he would have thought they deserved it, which is understandable."

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy:

"We played well in the second half, we had enough chances to win it. (We were) profligate and let them off the hook.

"The players kept going, we rallied them on and we got what we deserved. In fact, I don't think we got what we deserved, I think we should have won.

"It's a blooming good point from two-nil down with nine minutes to play. I thought if we got one back we might win it.

"You heard them singing 'Mick McCarthy is a Red'. I am and I always will be."
