Queens Park Rangers 3-0 Yeovil Town

Ravel Morrison scored a brace for the second time in a week to inspire QPR to a Championship victory over Yeovil.

The West Ham loanee, who notched the two decisive goals against Birmingham last weekend, struck either side of Bobby Zamora's first goal in almost a year.

Yeovil came close to equalising when Tom Lawrence's shot hit the post.

Rangers remain 10 points off the automatic promotion spots while the Glovers are three points from safety.

Yeovil began the brighter of the two teams with Lawrence testing Rob Green and Luke Ayling firing wide - but it was not long before Rangers took control of the match.

Morrison's scuffed volley was tipped around the post by Marek Stech in the 23rd minute but the Czech goalkeeper could do nothing about the England Under-21 international's shot two minutes later.

Tip-toeing along the 18-yard line, Morrison delayed his shot with a couple of neat feints before unleashing an unstoppable drive in off the post.

Niko Kranjcar twice tested Stech after the interval as Rangers threatened to stretch their lead but Yeovil continued to battle and came agonisingly close to equalising when Lawrence's 25-yard attempt came back off a post.

The opportunity sprung Rangers back into life and Jermaine Jenas clipped the top of the crossbar with a dipping shot shortly before substitute Zamora nodded home Junior Hoilett's cross.

And the win was wrapped up by Morrison in the last minute when he tucked the ball in from Kranjcar's pass.

QPR assistant manager Kevin Bond:

"It was very pleasing to score three, to get a win and a clean sheet, and for Bobby Zamora to score.

"You could see the goal made a big difference for his confidence and it gave the whole place a lift.

"It's great to have him back around us. I don't see why he can't play a big part. At his best he's been a top-class player."

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson:

"I think the scoreline was harsh; we had a great first 20-odd minutes and it would have been nice to be one up.

"Then they got their goal and we hit the woodwork, which was a great strike, but they just aren't going in for us at the moment."
