Truro City must improve defence - Steve Tully

New Truro City boss Steve Tully says his side have to cut out the defensive errors which have marred their season.

Tully replaced previous boss Steve Massey last week with the club in 19th place in the league table.

"The goal we conceded was a very soft goal, but we've been saying that all season," Tully told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"They had one other shot, we dominated the play so we're disappointed but we've changed a lot of things and the lads have taken it all on board."

Tully added: "The lads can hold their heads up high, they gave it a real good go.

"The lads stuck at it and two young lads were Torquay were superb.

"They're third in the league, we're 19th and there wasn't much in it so we have to be positive.

"I loved every minute of it - picking the players, telling them the team, even leaving out the players who weren't involved - it was a learning experience and I loved it.

"We've said it all season. We know we can score goals but we let sloppy ones in it at the other end.

"It's about taking responsibility - it's not just the goalkeeper and defence, it's the whole 11. There was a few home truths said but they want to make it work which is the good thing."
