Bristol City 1-1 Preston North End

Wade Elliott's 75th-minute equaliser denied Preston all three points as Bristol City continued to ease their relegation fears.

Joe Garner missed a trio of first-half chances for the hosts, while Sam Baldock shot wide for City.

Jack King's deflected effort put North End in front after 69 minutes.

But Elliott levelled six minutes later with a shot from the corner of the area that also took a nick as it went in to take it past Declan Rudd.

While Preston remain comfortably placed in the play-off spots, City are now six positions and four points above the relegation zone.

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill told BBC Radio Bristol:

"If it was an arm wrestle, I would say that they had the bend on us in the first half.

"Only slightly we both looked like we were feeling each other out.. That's what happens when you have a 3-5-2 facing a 3-5-2 sometimes - you can cancel each other out.

"But I thought they were slightly better in the first half in regards to their use of the ball, but I felt as though we were the better in the second half."
