Luton Town have signed Forest Green striker Andy Mangan on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has been training with Luton since February and the deal was completed before last week's deadline.

But the Hatters had to delay confirmation as Rovers have been in a contractual dispute with Mangan since trying to release him last month.

The forward had appealed against the club's decision to sack him after an internal investigation.

Mangan, who has two years remaining on his Forest Green deal, has only made nine appearances for Rovers after rejoining them in the summer, none of them since October.

He scored 26 goals in 41 Conference Premier games for the Gloucestershire side in a first spell between 2008 and 2010 and went on feature for Wrexham and Fleetwood.

"Andy's arrival strengthens the squad as we enter the final seven games of the season," said Hatters boss John Still, whose side are 13 points clear at the top of the Conference Premier.

"He joined Forest Green this summer, where he had done well previously, but for whatever reason it hasn't worked out.

"It goes without saying how good his goalscoring record is and that is something which I am sure we will benefit from."
