Bayern Munich 5-2 SV Werder Bremen

German champions Bayern Munich twice fought back from behind to beat Werder Bremen in a seven-goal thriller.

Right-back Theodor Gebre Selassie put Bremen ahead before Franck Ribery equalised for the home side.

Bremen led at half-time through skipper Aaron Hunt, only for Bayern to exert their authority in the second half.

Veteran striker Claudio Pizarro scored twice in four minutes before Bastian Schweinsteiger and substitute Arjen Robben wrapped up the win.

Bayern held a minute's silence before kick-off at the Allianz Arena in tribute to ex-Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova, who died aged 45 on Friday.

Vilanova was assistant to Bayern boss Pep Guardiola at the Nou Camp between 2008 and 2012, before he took charge when his great friend Guardiola decided to take a break from football.

Guardiola and his players also wore black armbands during the match.

Bayern, who wrapped up the Bundesliga title in March, rested a number of players with Tuesday's crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid in mind.

The Spanish side go to the Allianz Arena defending a 1-0 first-leg lead against holders Bayern.
