Former Arsenal boss Kerr unsure of what her future holds

Shelley Kerr has refused to rule herself out of the running to replace Sheila Begbie as the head of Scottish women's football.

Begbie is leaving her post with the SFA to become head of women's rugby.

And former Scotland international Kerr is now out of work after ending her time as manager of Arsenal.

"You can never rule anything out in football, but right now I need to do some evaluating and reflect on my time at Arsenal," said Kerr.

"I was born to coach, I love being out on the pitch every single day.

"I've been involved in the development side of the game from grassroots all the way through.

"As a passionate Scot I want to see the game thrive in Scotland as well, and I always want to give something back in some shape or form. I really don't know what I'm going to do at this moment in time."

Kerr was capped 59 times for Scotland, but never played in a major finals.

She is, however, convinced Anna Signeul's side can reach the World Cup in Canada in 2015, ahead of their meeting with qualifying Group 4 favourites Sweden.

Both sides go into the match on 14 June at Fir Park boasting 100% records.

"I think this is the best group of players and this is the best the national team have been doing," said Kerr.

"They have a fantastic opportunity to get to the finals and I really think they will get there.

"If we don't win the group, which I think we have a great chance of doing, we will certainly get to the play-offs and I think we will beat any of the teams in the play-offs."

Having announced she would be leaving Arsenal with the Gunners bottom of the Women's Super League, Kerr ended her 16-month reign on a high with a 2-0 win over Everton in the FA Cup final.

"The only surprise this season is that we haven't been more consistent, but I knew they would be up for the cup final," added Kerr.

"The preparations had went well and I'm just delighted for everyone, especially the players, they really deserved it."
