York City have signed winger Anthony Straker on a two-year deal after he turned down a new contract at Southend.

The 25-year-old Grenada international spent the past two seasons with the Shrimpers, scoring six goals in 82 appearances in all competitions.

He told BBC Radio York: "They showed at the end of last season that they can do well and they have the potential to do that again next season.

"The target is to be challenging for promotion."
