Wycombe Wanderers sign Accrington Stanley's Peter Murphy

Having come through Accrington's youth set-up, Murphy went on to make 176 appearances in seven years for the club

Wycombe have signed Peter Murphy on a two-year contract from fellow League Two side Accrington Stanley.

Utility player Murphy, 24, who can play in both midfield and defence, scored nine goals in 47 appearances last season, including a last-gasp equaliser against the Chairboys in November.

"Peter fits the character and work ethic that we want at the club," assistant manager Richard Dobson told the club website.

Murphy's contract begins on 1 July.

There is also the option of a third year attached to the deal, dependent on appearances.
