Winger Elliott Frear has left cash-strapped Salisbury City to take up a two-year deal with Forest Green Rovers.

The 23-year-old England C midfielder made 45 appearances for the Whites last season, scoring six goals.

Salisbury finished level on points with Forest Green in the Conference Premier last term but have been demoted one division after failing to pay debts.

Frear will link up with former Whites team-mate Clovis Kamdjo, who arrived at the New Lawn earlier this month.

"Elliott's a cracking lad and a very good footballer," Forest Green manager Ady Pennock told BBC Gloucestershire.

"I haven't hidden the fact I'm looking for players with pace and he has got blistering pace.

"He's got a bright future and I'm very pleased we've captured him."
