Kelvin Mellor: Plymouth Argyle sign former Crewe defender

League Two Plymouth Argyle have signed former Crewe Alexandra defender Kelvin Mellor on a two-year contract.
Mellor, 23, came through the Crewe youth academy and played 92 games for the club, including in their 2012 League Two play-off final and 2013 Johnstone's Paint Trophy final wins.
In 2012, he turned down a move to the Championship with Derby, opting for a two-year deal at the Alex instead.
However, he was not offered a new contract at the end of last season.
Mellor becomes the sixth new arrival at Home Park this summer following Peter Hartley, Carl McHugh, Lee Cox, Reuben Reid and Deane Smalley.
