Partick Thistle target Lyle Taylor is expected to sign a deal with English League One side Scunthorpe United.

The Sheffield United striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Thistle, netting seven times to help them stay in the Scottish Premiership.

Jags manager Alan Archibald had hoped to bring him back to the club on loan.

But Taylor was made available for transfer by the Blades and will sign a two-year contract with Scunthorpe after the clubs agreed a fee.

Scottish Championship outfit Falkirk were also thought to be tracking the 24-year-old, who scored 29 goals for the Bairns during a loan stint in 2012-13.
