Luke Rooney: Luton Town keep midfielder on short-term contract

Four of Rooney's Luton appearances last season came off the bench

Midfielder Luke Rooney has agreed a contract to keep him at Luton Town for a further six months.

The 23-year-old joined the Hatters from Maidstone in March on a short-term deal and played six times as John Still's side won the Conference Premier title.

He had started last season with Swindon, for whom he made 31 appearances, but was released at the turn of the year.

"It's fair to say that Luton supporters haven't seen the best of me," he said.

"I intend to take this chance and show them what I can really offer."
