Yeovil have signed right-back Brendan Moloney on a two-year deal after Bristol City cancelled his contract.

The Irishman, 25, joins the Glovers after fellow defender Luke Ayling went the other way to Ashton Gate on a three-year deal.

Moloney arrived at City from Nottingham Forest in January 2013 and made 58 appearances for the League One club.

"As soon as I was made aware that Brendan was available, we moved quickly," said manager Gary Johnson.

"We began talking to Brendan without the knowledge that Bristol City were interested in Luke. We didn't know about Luke's potential move until just under a week ago.

"I am very happy with the business our club has done, I was surprised that Luke went to Bristol City but both players are good signings for their clubs."
