Marc Laird: Tranmere Rovers sign former Southend midfielder

Laird joins new signings Kayode Odejayi, Marcus Holness, Michael Ihiekwe, Eliot Richards and Matt Gill

Tranmere Rovers have signed midfielder Marc Laird on a one-year contract.

The 28-year old left Southend United after scoring once in 34 games during his one season there, and has been on trial at Prenton Park.

He is the sixth arrival since following Tranmere's relegation to League Two.

"He's got a great attitude and adds fantastic fitness and know-how to our midfield. He'll complement our other midfielders," said Edwards.
