Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says Gaston Ramirez will not be going out on loan and Jack Cork will not be sold.

Uruguay forward Ramirez, 23, has been linked with a season-long loan to La Liga side Sevilla and midfielder Cork, 25, a permanent move to Crystal Palace, but Koeman has vowed to keep the pair.

Asked if he would loan out Ramirez, Koeman told BBC Radio Solent: "We need everyone because our squad is not big enough to think about loaning players."

On Cork, he added: "He will stay."

Koeman said he is eager to get Ramirez fit and involved.

"Gaston had a difficult pre-season," Koeman continued. "He has been injured twice, he is still not fit and needs more minutes."

The Dutchman is still hopeful of adding new players to his squad before the deadline, with Tottenham winger Andros Townsend among the players linked.

But when asked about Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld, Koeman said: "It's not realistic."
