Midfielder Andy Procter has rejoined League Two Accrington Stanley on a two-year contract after leaving Bury by mutual consent.

The 31-year-old made over 400 appearances for Stanley over a 10-year spell before leaving to sign for Preston in January 2012.

He was placed on the transfer list by Bury over the summer, after a year at Gigg Lane.

"It feels great to be back," Procter told the club website., external

"I spoke to (Stanley manager) James Beattie in the summer and made it clear that I was keen to come back.

"When I left Accrington we'd just finished in the play-offs and were on the verge of the play-offs when I actually left. That's where I'd like to help the club return to."
